Eurovision 2018: Bad news for UK's entry SuRie

SuRie is one of the UK's least popular Eurovision acts EVER, bookies have revealed.

Our 2018 entry is heading into Eurovision next month as one of the UK's least popular acts to date, according to Ladbrokes.

SuRie is an actress and singer who is no stranger to the Eurovision Song Contest, appearing as a backing singer for Loïc Nottet in 2015 and Blanche at Eurovision 2017.

SuRie said about her song, Storm: “Storm is a smash! It’s a dynamic combination of a more intimate, piano lead, singer songwriter style start, building into this anthemic, soulful pop party!”

Having been installed as a 33/1 shot, the hopeful is now 100/1 to win this year's competition - a price no other UK act in the 21st Century has been bigger than.

And the bookies have also revealed that she will head to Lisbon as one of the least popular picks with punters in terms of bets placed on British acts in recent years, while Israel are the clear 7/4 favourites to win.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "It's not looking good for the UK this year, and the latest odds suggest there's actually more chance of SuRie leaving with nil points than the title of Eurovision champ."
