RATINGS! Emmerdale, EastEnders, Not Going Out, MasterChef and more viewing figures

Emmerdale was the most watched show in last night’s viewing figures on Thursday, April 12.

The ITV soap topped the night’s numbers with 5.9 million and 5.3 million viewers for its two episodes.

BBC One rival EastEnders aired between the two, with 5.2 million for its latest showing.

Later, Not Going Out continued on BBC One last night with 3.6 million viewers, up 400,000 viewers on its two most recent episodes.

In the latest series, Not Going Out sees Lee (Lee Mack) and Lucy (Sally Bretton) living in the anarchy of a packed family house with kids Charlie and twin siblings, Benji and Molly.

As if children weren’t enough to keep the couple crashing from one near-disaster to the next, factor in lovably feckless father, Frank (Bobby Ball), close friends in the form of the world-weary, or more specifically wife-weary, Toby (Hugh Dennis) and uptight ice-queen Anna (Abigail Cruttenden), plus Lucy’s parents Geoffrey (Geoffrey Whitehead) and Wendy (Deborah Grant).

Staying on BBC One, MasterChef’s finals week continued with 4.8 million viewers, a million up last week, while Still Game had 2.7 million viewers for its latest episode at 9:30PM on BBC One.

Across on ITV, special documentary The Investigator had just over 2.3 million viewers.

It followed thenew series The Cruise which enjoyed 2.7 million viewers, ITV’s highest rating away from the soaps, but 400,000 below last Thursday.

Elsewhere, Can’t Pay? We’ll Take It Away continued its new series with 1.3 million watching on Channel 5.

On E4, The Big Bang Theory was the most watched show with a million viewers with spin-off Young Sheldon scoring 900,000.

Finally, on ITV2, Celebrity Juice averaged just over 700,000 viewers for its latest episode.
