Louisa Johnson has explained why her debut album is still in the works.
Louisa won The X Factor in 2015 and has been working on her record ever since.
It's finally due out later this year and Louisa has revealed just why it's taken so long.
"I just wasn't really happy with what I was doing music wise," she said during Channel 4's Sunday Brunch. "I wanted to be myself a bit more.
"I didn't know who I was, and now I've kind of found myself."
Louisa, who was 17 when she won the show, explained: "I'm just trying to be a bit careful about what I do.
"I've just grown up a lot, and I think I wanted it so badly and I rushed too much.
"And now I've just found this nice position that I'm in and I'm just kind of being myself a little bit more, and taking it easy."
Louisa says she now feels "amazing" after taking control.
"I just kind of realised I was a bit down, and a bit lost and I just thought, 'Do you know what? I'm not really that happy in myself,'" she went on. "It just clicked one day, and I was like I'm going to change everything – I want to be my own person. It was a weird feeling, but now I'm so happy."
Louisa released her new single Yes on Friday in the lead up to her album.
She said: "I’ve been waiting to release this single since August. I’ve listened to it every single day, five times a day, and I’m not bored.
"I've said the album has been coming every single year since the show but I promise it will be this year."
Yes can be downloaded and streamed now.
