Saturday Night Takeaway first aired in 2002 before taking a break in 2009. The show returned in 2013 and has got bigger each year since.

An audience of over 8 million tuned in to last week’s new series opener, the 99th episode.

Tonight the new series continues and this week’s 100th episode includes a LOT of special moments and plenty of nostalgia.

The episode will air live from London as usual and feature a landmark celebration looking back on highlights from the past 15 series of the show.

There will be a very special Ant vs Dec that will put their knowledge of the show to the test while Cuba Gooding Junior will be Guest Announcer.

We’ll be treated to the first episode of the sequel to last year’s Missing Crown Jewels, Saturday Knight Takeaway, featuring big names including Michael Sheen, Joanna Lumley and Emilia Fox.

Singalong Live will also have a nod to the biggest hit from the year Saturday Night Takeaway first went to air (2002).

And finally, Michael Ball and Alfie Boe will feature in the End of Show Show.

Ahead of the landmark episode, Ant and Dec have been sharing their best bits.

The Geordie duo confessed often it was when things went so wrong.

Dec explained: “We always surprise people live on the show, sometimes in their living rooms, and sometimes you get a better reaction than other times. Sometimes if you lip read you can see that they have been quite surprised.

“We have had to apologise a few times because people have had such a shock, they didn’t realise what they were saying. That’s always quite a cringe live moment.

“All in all though, when the live moments go wrong, we just get on with it and it becomes right, if you know what I mean. People often say to us, ‘Oh we love your show, the best bit is when it goes wrong’, and you think, ‘Thanks a lot!’, but I know what they mean. That’s the fun of live TV.”

Ant added: “And the fact that there’s two of us helps as well because if one of us gets it wrong, the other one can just laugh at him!”

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway airs tonight, March 3, at 7PM on ITV.
