Hunted prize money and how the Channel 4 show works

Hit reality show Hunted has returned to Channel 4 for a brand new series as a new group of British citizens turn fugitive and go on the run.

The contestants will start with only a change of clothes and a small amount of cash.

The stakes are high; if the fugitives can evade capture for 23 days they could win a share of the £100,000 prize money.

On the run across the length and breadth of the UK, the fugitives will be looking over their shoulders, ever fearful that the hunters have picked up their trail.

Leading the investigation at Hunted HQ is Chief Superintendent of Cleveland Police Lisa Theaker, who oversees a handpicked team of top police and military personnel, armed with the powers of the state.

As their disposal, the hunters have live CCTV, ANPR, GPS positioning, drones, tracker dogs, mobile phone monitoring, publicity campaigns and, for the first time, motorbikes. In one of the most closely monitored countries in the world, where will the fugitives hide?

For the first time ever the 12 fugitives are on the run in London, one of the most watched cities in the UK. Making their escape from Piccadilly Circus, they are tracked by a hunter helicopter beaming live pictures to HQ.

Deploying motorbikes, cars and the helicopter, the hunters track the pairs as they race to avoid detection and take home a share of the prize money.

Hunted airs Sunday nights on Channel 4 at 9PM.
