Release The Hounds returns tonight with a brand new series on ITV2.
Release the Hounds is back and this time the stars of Emmerdale, Love Island, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, The Real Housewives of Cheshire and some top Olympic athletes go into to the woods to face their fears and attempt to win cash for charity.
Matt Edmondson returns fresh from the Halloween special to preside over the award-winning ITV2, horror game-show from Primal Media which launches in January 2018.
In each episode, the teams of three celebrities experience some of the scariest challenges ever shown on TV. As darkness falls the horror intensifies and they’ll encounter mental and physical trials aimed to truly push them to their limits.
Finally, they must try and escape with the charity cash but their exit is guarded by a pack of wild hounds. If they outrun the dogs they keep the money. If they get caught… we don’t hear from them again.
In the second of six episodes tonight, Emmerdale cast members Danny Miller and Adam Thomas are joined by Love Island’s Scott Thomas (who is also Adam’s twin!). They’ll encounter freaky children, a haunted ambulance and an art gallery from hell.
Former Xtra Factor presenter Matt Edmondson said: “Having spent much of last year in the presence of Simon Cowell, I’m used to finding myself in terrifying situations, so I feel fully prepared to be taking on the challenge of hosting Release The Hounds.
"I love the show, and have enjoyed watching it both on and behind my sofa in the last few years. I can’t wait to scare the living quinoa out of a load of celebrities, and I’m currently in the process of trying to convince the producers to cast my West Highland Terrier, Oscar, as one of the ‘Hounds’.”
Release The Hounds airs tonight at 9PM on ITV2.
