“It is a terribly complicated issue, I didn’t even understand it for many, many years.”

Piers asked whether Caitlyn considered herself to be entirely a woman, she replied: “Well pretty much biologically I am. My journey to womanhood is different. It took me a long time to get here. Caitlyn has always been around in my life but she always lived inside.”

Asked whether it was a huge relief to have transitioned, Caitlyn said: “Huge. My life is so simple now, it’s just a joke, honestly. It does take me a little longer to get ready in the morning.”

On finding love
Speaking about romance and dating, Caitlyn said: “No, dating is… my life is very busy and I’ve had three marriages. I have 10 children, I’ve got 12 or 13 of the grandchildren.”

When Piers asked whether she wanted to find love again as a woman, she said: “No I don’t think I would ever … I just don’t see it. I don’t see it in my future.”

Caitlyn also dispelled rumours that she was dating transgender woman Sophia Hutchins. She said: “Sophia Hutchins? No we are not dating, we are friends. I can have friends can’t I? Of course I can, thank you.”
