It was announced on Saturday that the winner of The X Factor 2017 will release their winner’s single in support of two good causes.

And this year, in a new twist, the victorious act has released a duet as their winner’s song.

Rak Su won the show and have teamed up with Grammy-award winning rapper Wyclef Jean on Rak-Su’s original song Dimelo.

All proceeds from the track are in aid of children’s hospice charities, Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star Chase.

The Winner’s Single is now available to download and stream after the winner of The X Factor was announced on Sunday night and will be The X Factor UK’s 10th charity release.

Simon Cwoell’s company Simco Limited will donate 100% of its profits from the sale of each download and in respect of all audio streaming of the single, and the Chancellor has also agreed to donate the VAT, in each case to be shared equally by Together For Short Lives, registered charity no. 1144022 and Shooting Star Chase, registered charity no. 1042495.

This donation will be at least 20p plus VAT for each download sold in the UK.

Speaking on The X Factor live show, Simon said: “I’ve worked with these charities and I know how much help and money they need. This is what we’re gonna try and do this weekend, we’re gonna try and raise a million pounds for this charity.

“And I don’t wanna just rely on you guys. You can go to the website, donate whatever you can.

“Meet these people, you’ll understand how important it is. All the proceeds from the record will go the charity.”

Simon added: “I’m going to kick this off myself with £250,000 so we get to a million pounds.”

The pair were top of the vote at last night’s freeze where Kevin Davy White went home, finishing in third place.

The X Factor will return for a new series next year.
