Lloyd Macey took to The X Factor 2017 stage tonight despite suffering voice problems.

Ahead of the semi-finals this weekend, six acts remain in the competition but only four will make it through to next week’s grand final.

Each of the remaining six contestants has the chance to impress the viewers at home again, performing up to twice over the weekend.

In a first for this year, the contestants will all be singing together having performed in their categories up until now.

This evening, the six acts all took to the stage for the first time as they celebrated the best of British music with the theme ‘Cool Britannia’.

But Lloyd’s performance was thrown into doubt after waking up having ‘lost his voice’.

Mentor Louis Walsh revealed in the live shows that Lloyd has been told by doctors not to perform.

“But he’s going to sing against doctor’s orders,” Louis added.

Lloyd went on to take to the stage, singing Elton John classic Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.

It’s now up to the public to decide if Lloyd can make it through to the second half of the semi-final on Sunday.

With the sing off gone, viewer votes alone will determine who loses their place in the competition later tonight.

The remaining five acts will then go forward to Sunday’s show.

They’ll all perform a brand new song in a bid to get through to next week’s final before one more act is sent packing.

Guests over the weekend will be Ed Sheeran and James Arthur.
