The Cutkelvins have been accused of ‘cheating’ in The X Factor 2017 semi-final tonight.
As things stand six acts remain in the competition but only four will make it to the end.
Each of the final six contestants tonight had another chance to impress the viewers at home.
In a first for this year, the contestants were singing together having performed in their categories up until now.
This evening, the acts celebrated the best of Britpop music with the theme ‘Cool Britannia’.
However the CutKelvins raised eyebrows when they revealed they were singing an original song ‘Nothing Like You’.
“How was the cutkelvins song fitting into the cool brittania theme exactly?” asked one viewer on Twitter.
Another agreed: “I don’t get with The Cutkelvins are doing an original song if the theme is Coool Britania…. #TheXFactor”
A third added: “Not sure a Cutkelvins original is keeping to the Cool Britannia theme ? #XFactor”
Speaking ahead of their semi-final performance, Shereen told heat magazine: “We’ve been in rehearsals non-stop because obviously it’s getting hard now. Everyone here’s so talented, so we’ve got to go out there and give it our all.
“We’re going to do an original song again because it gives us the chance to show who we are as artists.”
Kyle added: “This week’s performance will definitely be high energy again. We want to bring that party back to the stage and have a lot of fun out there.”
It’s up to the public to keep The Cutkelvins in. If they avoid the axe tonight (Saturday), they’ll sing again on Sunday night.
The X Factor 2017 semi-finals air this Saturday and Sunday night on ITV, starting at 7:30PM.
One act will be leaving at the end of each evening’s show.
Guests over the weekend will be Ed Sheeran and James Arthur.
