X Factor contestants have been accused of ‘cheating’ in the latest X Factor 2017 live show.

Last night saw the fifth round of the live shows of The X Factor 2017 with a brand new format.

The 12 remaining contestants this year are performing on separate nights in their categories and this evening the Overs and Groups were first up for the third weekend.

The theme was the music of George Michael but sibling trio Cutkelvins opted to perform a mash up of covers.

“Singing not one of George Michael’s songs but two of his greatest ever covers, The Cutkelvins,” their mentor Simon Cowell said.

The CutKelvin’s medley of Seal’s Killer and The Temptations’ Papa Was A Rolling Stone received a mix reception from those watching.

One complained: “George Michael has so many incredible songs…so why didn’t the Cutkelvins sing one of them?!”

Another tweeted: “#XFactor why did the cutkelvins not do a #GeorgeMichael song? Disrespectful doing a cover when he gave so much”

Tonight the live shows were back with the Girls and Boys, where this time Grace Davies also chose to perform a non-George Michael original.

One viewer raged: “#XFactor WTF is Grace singing! It’s NOT a #GeorgeMichael song, If it’s a cover you are not doing a tribute? It’s crap & it’s Not right #PissedOff”

Another wrote: “So Grace sings a song that’s not originally a George Michael song. He may have sang it but it wasn’t his song. So many to choose from and she picks this. Ffs. #XFactor”

Despite the complaints, both the Cutkevins and Grace sailed through the latest public vote to make the Quarter Finals.

Currently a total of 10 acts remain in the competition’s final stages ahead of next weekend’s fourth round of live shows.

The X Factor 2017 continues next Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
