X Factor 2017: Is Grace Davies being a diva backstage?

X Factor 2017 contestant Grace Davies has been accused of ‘diva behaviour’ backstage.

But her fellow contestants have jumped to Grace’s defence and hit back at the claims.

Grace is one of the tips to win the series and topped the very first public vote of the live shows.

But sources last week accused the singer-songwriter, who has been performing her own songs, of ‘acting as if she’s already won’.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, an insider claimed: “Grace acts like she has already won and is a big star.

“All her manners seem to have gone and since winning the opening week she has developed a bit of an attitude. It needs to stop.”

At the time, a source close to Grace defended her alleged ‘attitude’, saying she is merely keen to do well in the competition.

They explained: “After years of performing in clubs and bars with little recognition, Grace hopes that this is her time for a big break in the music industry.

“This matters so much and she is beside herself that people may mistake her need to be a perfectionist as being difficult.

“The reality is she’s worked so hard for this and is taking the competition very seriously.”

Also defending Grace has been her fellow finalists.

Sean and Conor said: “All the contestants are really friendly and everyone gets on really well. There’s nothing that we’ve noticed.”

Conor added: “Grace hasn’t been acting like a diva. Not that we’ve noticed anyway.”

Sam Black agreed: “I think Grace is absolutely bob on; I’ve never seen her act like that. She’s obviously told me about that story and stuff, but we were actually laughing because she’s really not like that.”

And Kevin Davy White concurred: “Definitely not. She is so lovely. She is still the Grace I first met. ”

Meanwhile, it’s been reported that Sharon Osbourne has spoken to Grace about the reports.

The X Factor airs this Saturday at 8:10PM and Sunday at 7:30PM on ITV.

Four acts will be sent home over the two shows at the weekend.
