The X Factor's planned quadruple elimination for this weekend has been axed.
A shock double-double elimination bombshell was dropped on the acts at the end of last Sunday's latest episode.
Host Dermot O'Leary announced that two acts would be leaving on both the Saturday and Sunday nights.
However it seems as though X Factor boss Simon Cowell has had a change of heart.
"There is some great talent on the show this year," a source told The Sun newspaper. "Simon thinks it's unfair to cut the numbers so drastically when contestants are doing so well."
With just the six rounds of live shows this year, the source added: "Producers want to give them more time to shine and more time for the audiences to pick their favourites."
A spokesperson for the show confirmed: "This weekend's show will feature one act leaving on Saturday and one act leaving on Sunday."
The second weekend of live shows saw began last week with the Boys and Groups singing on Saturday night where Leon Mallett went home and Rak-Su topped the vote.
On Sunday, the Overs and Girls sang and it was Tracy Leanne Jefford who was voted off while Kevin Davy White won the vote.
Kevin then beat Rak-Su in a new 'prize fight' twist, in place of the ditched bottom two sing off.
After the latest exits, currently a total of 12 acts remain in the competition's final stages.
They are Simon Cowell's Groups Rak-Su, The CutKelvins, Sean and Conor Price and wildcard Jack & Joel, Sharon Osbourne's Girls Grace Davies, Rai-Elle Williams, Holly Tandy and wildcard Alisah Bonaobra.
Plus Louis Walsh's Boys Lloyd Macey and Sam Black and Nicole Scherzinger's Overs Kevin Davy White and Matt Linnen.
The X Factor 2017 continues this Saturday at 8:10PM and Sunday night at 7:30PM on ITV
Guests stars performing will be One Direction's Harry Styles and Paloma Faith.
