Simon Cowell will NOT be back on The X Factor Sunday night.

Instead, BGT judge Alesha Dixon in step up to replace him.

Last night Simon missed the opening live show of the series after being taken to hospital on Friday night.

In the live show on ITV, host Dermot O’Leary said: “Simon was taken to hospital yesterday but he is doing fine, but we do want to say get well soon boss and we hope to see you fighting fit very soon.”

Following his hospital dash, the music mogul has since returned home but did not appear in the first live show, where the Girls and Boys categories performed.

Instead, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger were on the panel without him.

Sunday will see the Overs and the Groups, Simon’s category, sing and face the second elimination.

According to The Sun newspaper, Simon won’t be back and instead Britain’s Got Talent’s Alesha Dixon will replace him.

Alesha has already appeared as a guest judge this year, steping in for both Nicole and Sharon during the audition stages.

A source said: Doctors told him it would be too quick for him to return to work just 48 hours after a serious medical episode.

“So he’s getting so much needed rest and will be watching the X Factor at home with Eric and Lauren.

“Alesha knows what she’s doing and will be a good representative of Simon’s views.”

The X Factor 2017 continues live on Sunday night from 7PM.

Another act will be sent home with the bottom two sing-off axed as the viewer vote alone decides who goes.

However, there will instead be a sing-off between the acts who topped the votes on Saturday and Sunday.

The winner as decided by the judges will win a prize, flying to New York for a masterclass with P!nk.
