The X Factor 2017 finalist Grace Davies has revealed the inspiration for her song-writing.
Grace is the current favourite to win this year’s series having wowed the judges at every stage so far with original songs.
They’ve often focused on relationships and now the 22-year-old has opened up more about the inspiration for them.
“Don’t Go, which I sang at Boot Camp, was heartbreaking to write because I was completely infatuated with him and then he dumped me over text,” Grace revealed this week. “It destroyed me. I was devastated.”
She added to OK! Magazine: “He’s got a new girlfriend now and I’m happy for him but I haven’t moved on so I’m a little bit bitter.”
Grace’s success on the show has not been without controversy, with claims she previously had a record deal.
But the potential X Factor winner added: “I live with [former X Factor star] Janet Devlin and we’re signed to the same management, but I’ve never had a record deal.”
While Grace has so far performed original songs on the show, that will change when the live shows begin this weekend.
Grace has told fans that she will be singing covers in the final stages, and has already got her first TWO song choices prepared.
“We know what we’re doing for week 1 and week 2,” Grace told followers on Instagram Live on Saturday, following the latest episode.
The X Factor 2017 continues this weekend on ITV with the very first of the live shows.
The X Factor will start on Saturday at 8:20PM and return Sunday at 7PM.
