Huge changes planned for The X Factor 2017 live shows may have been revealed.
There will be six weeks of live rounds on this year’s series, and things are set to work a lot differently than past series.
Now-removed details previously shared on the official X Factor website had leaked that, as expected, we’ll see performances from the contestants and eliminations on both the Saturday and Sunday nights.
According to the website, at the start, all the acts from two categories will sing on the Saturday before the vote will open. One or two acts will be eliminated based solely on the results of the public poll with NO second chance sing off.
“This may be either the act with the lowest number of votes across both categories that performed or the act with the lowest number of votes from each category that performed,” the ITV website had stated.
The acts from the other two categories will then perform on Sunday, also facing a public vote before one or two are eliminated as on the Saturday.
The format for the semi-final and final weekends, on November 25&26 and December 2&3 respectively, will be revealed at a later date.
In addition to the eliminations, the ITV website revealed a new “best performer of the weekend” vote and prize.
However with the details now removed from the website, it’s possible they could change before Saturday’s first live show.
But we know for sure that each Saturday and Sunday night will see guest stars performing with Liam Payne and Stormzy appearing this weekend.
Plus, the very first live show will also see the result of the wild card vote revealed with four extra acts joining the final 12 already through.
Saturday and Sunday saw judges’ houses with the four mentors each picking a trio of acts in their respective categories.
Nicole Scherzinger was first up with the Overs, choosing Kevin Davy White, Matt Linnen and Tracy Leanne Jefford to go through to the live stages.
Next was Sharon Osbourne with the Girls. Grace Davies, Rai-Elle Williams and Holly Tandy all made the live shows.
Sunday it was the turn of the Groups and Simon Cowell selected Sean and Conor Price, The CutKelvins and Rak-Su for the final stages.
Finally, Louis Walsh picked his boys. Lloyd Macey, Spencer Sutherland and Sam Black made it through to the live shows.
They’ll be joined by four wild cards, with viewers currently able to vote through one additional act in each category, to be revealed on Saturday.
The X Factor will be live on Saturday at 8:20PM with the performances and return Sunday at 7PM with the first weekend of live singing.
