Rak-Su have written nine original songs for X Factor’s judges’ houses.
Rak-Su is made up of 25-year-old Ashley, a Recruitment Manager, 25-year-old Jamaal, a NHS Worker, 25-year-old Myles, a Recruitment Manager and 25-year-old Mustafa, a Hotel Receptionist.
The London based group have wowed the judges at every stage of the competition so far with their original songs.
And they do just the same tonight at judges’ houses, singing a new track called Palm Tree.
“We’ve written nine songs but we’ve had to fizzle it down to the one that is the most beneficial for us,” they say.
But will Simon Cowell put them through to the live shows?
Speaking ahead of judges’ houses, Ashley said: “We’ve done originals so far and it’s gone quite well, so we want to carry on doing that.”
Suggesting the fact that they’re life long friends helps them stand out, he continued: “We never really got round the table and said ‘You know what? Let’s make a band’.
“We grew up with each other, spend a lot of time with each other and love making music. It kind of just grew into what it is now – Rak-Su. It happened naturally.”
Jamaal added: “I feel our style is very relatable. When it comes to music, we make music that we feel happy with and that we can all connect with in some certain way. Whether that’d be from an emotional point of view or whether that’d be from an honest point of view.”
Rak-Su say making the live shows would “mean everything”.
Myles explained: “It would honestly mean so much to us. We’re in this competition for a reason.
“We’re not just here to have fun. We do take it very seriously. It would mean the world to all of us.
“Doing the journey with my brothers and with my family is honestly a very emotional situation to be in. We all want to get there and show what we can do!”
The X Factor 2017 judges’ houses airs Saturday at 8:20PM and Sunday at 7PM on ITV.
