Talia Dean made a shock exit in The X Factor 2017 results tonight.
32-year-old VIP airport concierge and mother from London Talia was controversially sent home by Overs mentor Nicole Scherzinger.
But with the audience and other judges left in uproar at the end of the episode, will she be back?
This evening saw the start of the six chair challenge for the Overs, where Talia first wowed the judges.
She told cameras before singing: “At the room auditions, they saw something in me that I thought I’d lost… I can’t get any older and not do this. I’ve got to give my singing a chance. Being at the six chair is terrifying, it’s a lot of pressure. The further I go, the more I want it.”
After singing Macy Gray’s I Try, Talia left the judges full of praise.
Simon Cowell raved: “This is the best you’ve sung in this competition. You one million percent deserve to be sitting in one of those chairs.
Sharon Osbourne said: “Great song choice, perfect song for you. I would definitely give you a seat.”
And Louis Walsh added: “You came to life up there, you deserve a seat.”
Mentor Nicole Scherzinger gave Talia a seat, but later replaced her in favour of Loverine Fermino, a 31-year-old singer from the Philippines.
Singing Jennifer Holliday’s And I Am Telling You, Loverine hadn’t been seen on the show before today.
After Loverine’s performance, Sharon Osbourne reacted: “There’s a phrase called sing for your life and my goodness, you did.”
Simon Cowell added: “The exciting thing is how much you want it, Nicole you have to give this girl a seat.”
Nicole then shocked everyone by replacing Talia with Loverine, prompting outrage from the audience and judges.
“That is crazy,” reacts Simon Cowell. “That is madness.”
Even Dermot O’Leary is shocked, saying from the sidelines: “That’s insane.”
The episode ended on a cliffhanger with the audience booing Nicole.
Will she change her mind and bring back Talia?
The X Factor 2017 continues on Sunday night at 7PM on ITV with the remaining Overs singing, plus the Boys with Louis Walsh.
