A new girl group on The X Factor 2017 has been revealed in tonight’s Six Chair Challenge.
The mega six piece group were put together earlier this year during filming by Simon Cowell.
This series, Simon is mentoring the Groups again for the first time since 2010 with One Direction.
And The Sun reports that he hopes for the girls to have just as much success as the boys did seven years ago.
“Simon is placing his hopes on a six-piece girlband, which he made up from contestants who stood out throughout Boot Camp and the auditions,” a source told the newspaper. “They all have incredible voices and look amazing together, given they all have a great fashion sense and can dance, too.”
The insider added: “Simon thinks the band will appeal to both girls and boys and is hoping they will progress to the live shows.”
The group is made up of former soloists Lydia Calvin, Kelsey Gill, Charlie Cammish, Sky Saron-Wermerling and Imagen Harrison, plus Ash Holme from girl group NQ who didn’t get a seat at the Six Chair Challenge.
In tonight’s episode, the six piece performed David Guetta and Nicki Minaj’s Hey Mama.
The group told the panel before singing: “It’s gone amazing. We got this song last night, we’ve had to work really well together to know each other’s personalities, traits, backgrounds, vibes.”
After the performance, the judges delivered their verdict.
“Girls I am so excited to see you back,” said Sharon, “You’ve all got great voices, you guys will be a force.”
Nicole Scherzinger added: “I love the determination, the energy. I see something there and I would definitely give you girls a chance.”
However it was up to Simon Cowell as to whether or not the girls got a seat.
He ended up giving them a spot at judges’ houses, leaving the new girl group just one stage away from the live shows.
The Six Chair Challenge continues on Sunday night at 7PM on ITV.
