There was a three-way sing off in The X Factor 2017 Six Chair Challenge tonight.
This evening saw the start of the Six Chair Challenge in 2017 with the Girls category, mentored by Sharon Osbourne.
Each of the Girls took to the stage one at a time, battling for one of six seats which represented places at judges’ houses.
While the judges – and a live audience at Wembley Arena – offered their opinions, it was up to Sharon alone to decide who gets a seat.
And things got tense as Sharon struggled to decide between three girls in particular.
22-year-old singer from Manila, Philippines, Alisah Bonaobra, 19-year-old make-up artist from Surrey, Scarlett Lee and 16-year-old student from Croydon Rai Elle were all asked to sing against one another for a seat.
Sharon said: “Girls I am so sorry to make you do this but what do I do when there is so much talent here and the audience, I have to listen to the audience.
“I want you to all do a sing-off for me, you’re all so talented don’t forget that. No tears, go for it girls.”
Scarlett performed Celine Dion’s The Power Of Love, Rai-Elle sang Break Every Chain and Alisha performed Jessie J’s Bang, Bang.
After the performances, Sharon decided to put both Alisha and Rai-Elle through and send Scarlett – who originally had a seat – home.
Other contestants in the Girls category who finished with a seat were 16-year-old singer from Yorkshire Holly Tandy, 22-year-old musician from Anguilla Deanna and 20-year-old mum from Birmingham Georgina Panton.
The six girls will now go forward to judges’ houses with Sharon later this month.
For now, the Six Chair Challenge returns next Saturday and Sunday night.
It’ll be the turn of Simon with the Groups, Nicole with the Overs and Louis with the Boys.
