Scarlett Lee stormed the stage on The X Factor 2017 tonight at bootcamp.

This evening saw the final round of bootcamp arena auditions as acts performed for a place at the Six Chair Challenge at Wembley Arena.

Each had chosen their own song in a bid to wow the judges.

19-year-old make-up artist Scarlett from Surrey performed Elton John’s Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me for the panel.

Saying she’s “worked her butt off” since the room auditions, the judges were very impressed.

“I’m proud of her, when she came to us, we told her she needed to focus and she has, I would love to work with her, absolutely,” Nicole Scherzinger said.

With four yeses, the judges put Scarlett through to the six chair challenge.

It was a big change from Scarlett’s room audition where her singing was branded “annoying” after first performing for the panel, but she still made bootcamp.

Scarlett told cameras at the auditions: “Growing up I was always the biggest X Factor fan to actually be here is the most incredible thing in the world.

“I love being a make up artist but I love singing more. Literally from the minute I could walk and talk, I was writing songs.

Scarlett came accompanied by a huge crowd of supporters, saying: “If you’re going to do X Factor you’ve got to do it big style. We’ve got the T shirts, we’ve got the banners. I’ve got the best support, the best family backing me up. I can’t wait to do these people proud.”

In the audition room, Scarlett told the judges: “I believe I have The X Factor. It’s me!”

Scarlett began her audition with a medley of songs but Simon Cowell quickly stopped her and said it was “too annoying”.

Instead, he invited her to sing Andra Day’s Rise Up.

After, Simon said: “You’ve made this very difficult for yourself and for us. You’re trying to be too clever for your vocals, your song choices are all over the place.”

“I just don’t think your ready for us,” Sharon Osbourne added, “Your voice is all over the place.”

But Louis Walsh encouraged: “The raw talent is there in front of us, I know it.”

Scarlett ended up with three yeses with Simon taking a leap of faith and saying yes after Sharon gave a no.

“This is your lucky day,” Simon told the teenager.

The X Factor 2017 airs Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
