Saturday evening saw bootcamp begin, first with the 'Wall of Songs' that ended with contestants singing in groups of four.

In one group we met Aidan Martin, Liia, Caroline Widdows and Jodie Woolcott who were put together after all choosing to sing Clean Bandit and Zara Larsson's Symphony.

They bickered over who got to sing which lines with Liia and Jodie in particular disagreeing.

Jodie told cameras: "At the end of the day, it's a competition, and your friends at bootcamp are your competition. If you want world domination as a popstar, you need to show them who you are as an artist.

"I want to make sure the judges are looking at me and only me."

And she remarked: "Sharon said in my audition that I need backing dancers and they're here now, you can see them."

Later, at the arena auditions, Jodie's, err, confidence continued.

She said: "I've even gone outside and people are asking pictures for me... I guess I probably just look good. I can see myself in the future being a world wide popstar. Imagine everyone hearing my voice, it'd be amazing."

On stage, Jodie told the judges: "I don't just stand there and sing, I give a performance and I've got what it takes."

She then performed Meghan Trainor's Me Too, saying: "If I was you, I'd want to be me too."

"Very confident, Missy, have some fun," Nicole Scherzinger replied.

After singing, the panel had their discussion before Nicole declared: "I don't think that was the right song, there was no fun in it. This is it, this is the end of the road."

Jodie wasn't bitter, telling host Dermot O'Leary: "Maybe it wasn't the right time, I'll carry on."

"The Jodie girl is an absolute a**ehole #xfbootcamp," added another bluntly.
