22-year-old singer Alisah is from Manila, Philippines where she finished as runner up on their version of The Voice.

Hoping for better success on The X Factor, Alisah performed Beyoncé’s Listen in tonight’s room auditions.

“I believe my talent is world class and I’m here to represent all the Filipino community here in the UK,” she said.

One of eight children, Alisah was joined by a huge group of family and friends at her audition although her eighteen(!) cats had been left at home.

“I first started singing when I was five and since then I’ve never stopped,” Alisah said, before explaining she currently performs to support her family.

“We don’t have enough money for ourselves,” Alisah added.

Alisah went on to perform a cover Beyoncé’s Listen as her supporters cheered on outside with host Dermot O’Leary.

But what did the judges make of it?

“You’re so tiny!” was Nicole Scherzinger’s first remark.

“What does this mean to you?” asked Simon Cowell.

Alisah responded: “This X Factor journey is very memorable for me because I dedicate this fight for my family way back in the Philippines. I’m only here because of my mother’s friend, who contributed enough money for a plane ticket, just to audition here.”

After hearing Alisah’s story and her voice, the judges gave the talented singer four yeses through to bootcamp.
