We could well see a One Direction reunion by the end of next year if the latest odds are to be believed.
A surprise comeback for the X Factor group in 2018 could be on the cards according to the latest betting from leading online bookmaker, Betway who are reporting a surge of betting interest following Harry Styles’ ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ solo performance on Tuesday night.
It remains to be seen whether the band’s reconciliation will include former bandmate Zayn Malik, but there’s no doubt a potential reunion tour will create a whole lot of history.
It’s evens that the group reunite in 2018 or 3/1 for Liam, Niall, Harry and Louis to get back together in 2019, whilst it’s 5/2 for the guys to not reunite before 2020.
Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Even when the 1D boys are branching out on solo careers, some of them are still finding it hard to forget their boy band roots.
“Harry Styles delighted fans by singing 1D hit ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ on the opening night of his tour and Directioners don’t think it will be too long before we see the group back on stage together. We’re now short as evens for the boys to reconcile next year, whilst it’s 3/1 that it will happen in 2019.”
Earlier this year saw Simon Cowell say he was hopeful of another tour and album from the group, who split in 2015.
Simon told The Sun newspaper: “You know, it’s fun being out there on your own but what I hope is going to happen is that they remember now how much fun it was being in a group.
“I always believe that you don’t make rules, you break the rules. So there’s nothing to stop them, if they want to, getting together for a tour, for an album.
“I made it absolutely clear, obviously, ‘We’re in’.”
