Gadget guru and all round nice guy Jason Bradbury has officially been announced as the next celebrity to join Sir Richard Branson and Ronan Keating in The Swim! The team will relay swim across the treacherous Irish Sea from Holyhead to Dublin – a distance of 56 miles - to raise £1 million for Cancer Research UK.
Bradbury is currently the host of Five’s The Gadget Show, and more recently the BBC1 family game show, Don’t Scare the Hare With a career spanning fifteen years, from stand-up comedy with David Walliams and Simon Pegg, slots on The Big Breakfast and Sky1 to writing a trilogy of preteen techno-thriller books, Bradbury certainly has the stamina to be part of The Swim team.
We've managed to snap myself an exclusive video of Jason talking about the challenge from The Swim team, check it out:
The newest member of The Swim team Jason Bradbury said: “I’ve taken part in loads of wacky and wild adventures over the years, and The Swim is certainly going right to the top of my list. I love a challenge and jumped at the chance to be part of the team. It’s exciting and for a cause that is close to my heart, my eldest brother having survived skin cancer. Bring on the sharks, jellyfish, cold, night swimming... I will take it all on!”
“There are two public places in The Swim team up for grabs. So join us in this amazing challenge; sign-up today at www.the-swim.co.uk and help us raise £1 million for Cancer Research UK.”
The Swim team will be made up of 10 people, including Ronan Keating, Richard Branson and Jason Bradbury, and two places are up for grabs for members of the public who pledge to support the fearless team in achieving their ambitious challenge.
