Rebecca Grace’s cover of Kelly Clarkson’s Piece By Piece on The X Factor has boosted the song up the charts.
20-year-old Rebecca from Essex impressed the judges on Saturday night’s show with her cover of the 2015 track.
“I am so nervous!” was the first thing Rebecca told the judges.
Opening up about her confidence issues, Rebecca added: “When I listen to [myself singing] back, the more you’re like ‘I’ve done something wrong there’.”
Encouraged by her dad, the McDonald’s worker performed Kelly Clarkson’s Piece By Piece.
“That was the perfect song for your voice,” Louis Walsh reviewed after the audition.
Simon Cowell praised: “For the first time, I’ve never listened to the lyrics like I just have listened with you. I listened to every word and I think you’re very sincere.”
With four yeses, Grace was sent off to bootcamp.
Her performance has been viewed 600,000 times since Saturday and Kelly Clarkson’s original song is now up to Number 14 in the midweek charts, the Official Charts Company reports.
It puts the song on course for a brand new peak, having originally charted at a lowly Number 95 back in 2015.
The X Factor 2017 auditions continue Saturday and Sunday night on ITV.
Meanwhile in other reality TV chart news, The Only Way Is Essex’s Megan McKenna is set for a Top 40 debut with TWO singles.
Following her There’s Something About Megan reality series on ITVBe, which saw her attempting to launch a country music career, her songs High Heeled Shoes and Far Cry From Love are at 30 and 39 in the charts.
