X Factor 2017 contestant Drew Wedlake has already put out his own EP.

In last night’s show, 22-year-old Drew revealed how he currently spends his days working in a bed and breakfast, changing light bulbs and playing his guitar for customers.

“As soon as four o’clock hits, I’m straight out the door, off to do some busking,” added Drew.

However The Sun reports that Drew has already released an EP that remains available to buy on iTunes.

A spokesperson for the show denied claims that Drew had signed a record deal to release his music. They said: “Drew has never been signed to a record label. He has only self funded his own EP”

As well as own EP, Drew is also pals with former winner James Arthur and has put out his own music video.

Of course releasing your own music online doesn’t quite compare to putting yourself face to face with the judges as Drew did last night.

But can he do as well as James in the competition who went on to win the series in 2012?

Drew had brought his entire all of his friends and family to the audition yesterday, saying: “I couldn’t ask for a more supportive family.”

For his room audition, Drew sang a stripped back cover of The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army.

“You look great Drew and your voice is good,” reacted Simon Cowell.

Fellow judges Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger were equally complimentary.

With four yeses, Drew made it through to the bootcamp.

Other acts on this weekend’s auditions included 32-year-old Talia Dean who has previously had a chance encounter with both Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger.

We also met Kevin Davy White, who quit his “boring” day job to make it in the music industry, and another successful act securing for yeses over the weekend were mixed group New Dynamix, made up of a trio of girls and a pair of guys.

The X Factor 2017 auditions air again on Sunday night at 8PM.
