Nathan Sailsman had a heartbreaking rejection on The X Factor 2017 tonight.
The 27-year-old betting shop manager and single dad from Tottenham went before the judges in this evening's show.
"I've always had a passion for singing," Nathan said in the episode, "Before my daughter was born I was doing a few shows, a few open mic nights and I was considering pursing it.
"But I literally just focused on raising my daughter because that's all I could do at the time. Being a dad is the best thing that's ever happened to me.
"She's the reason I wake up every morning and she's the reason why I go to work. Everything I do is for her.
"I'm here today to show her to follow your dreams and to provide a better future for me and her."
Nathan, who said he hoped to move people with his music, performed Robbie Williams' Angels at his first audition.
But the response was mixed with Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger both saying yes but Louis Walsh saying no.
Simon Cowell gave Nathan a second chance, inviting him to return later with another song.
Nathan later went back before the judges with Bryan Adams's Heaven.
"It's one of those songs that really evokes a lot of emotion for me," he said of the choice, "I'm laying everything on the line. It's going to allow me to pour my heart out."
After singing again, it was time for the all important verdict.
With Nicole and Sharon saying yes, Louis commented: "That was better, I liked half of the song and then you were oversinging. I like you, I just don't think you're ready... I have to say no."
Nathan's fate was then in Simon's hands.
"You are a very, very nice guy, I like you a lot," he began, "I'm going to be absolutely honest with you. There are some very good singers in the competition this year, you are not ready with your voice in terms of a recording contract.
"I don't like saying to someone like you this isn't going to work, but it's a no."
With only two yeses, Nathan didn't make it to bootcamp.
The X Factor continues Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV.
