Nicole Caldwell battled nerves in The X Factor 2017 auditions tonight.
There's no big live audience on this year's try outs, as acts instead sing for the judges face to face.
One of those who sang for the panel tonight was 27-year-old pub singer Nicole Caldwell from Paisley, Scotland.
"Oh My god I think I must be the most nervous person in Scotland," she said in front of judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Louis Walsh and guest judge Alesha Dixon.
"Do you need a hug?" asked Simon before inviting Louis to give Nicole a supportive embrace.
"I didn't have much confidence a couple of years ago," said Nicole as she revealed she had lost 5 stone over the past two years to improve her self-esteem.
"Now it's time to give myself a chance," she added.
Although a full time singer, Nicole told the judges: "I've never done anything as big as this, it's quite out my comfort zone."
She then went on to belt out Prince's Purple Rain for the panel in a bid to make bootcamp.
"You can push this more," Simon encouraged her half way through the song.
After the audition, Simon commented: "Why are you nervous when you can sing like that? Was it perfect? No, but I like you, Nicole."
Alesha Dixon added: "I think you need to start working on your showmanship. Working on how to connect with us, with an audience.
"It's great when singers close their eyes because they're feeling it, but we want to look them into them. Bring us your confidence."
Despite the nerves, Nicole still got four yeses to make it through to bootcamp.
Other acts on tonight's show included Jordan Rabjohn who sings original song Mexico and teenager Shanaya Atkinson-Jones who gives an emotional performance as she leaves the judges in tears with a cover of A Great Big World and Christina Aguilera's Say Something.
The X Factor 2017 airs Saturday and Sunday nights on ITV.
