X Factor 2017 trailer revealed but when does it start?

X Factor start date?

ITV has revealed the first trailer for The X Factor 2017 featuring a whole host of familiar faces.

The one-minute clip voiced by host Dermot O'Leary recaps the recent years from the show and its famous faces.

From Harry Styles or "the young guy I met in the queue that time", as Dermot says, to the likes of Louisa Johnson, James Arthur and Little Mix, many X Factor stars feature in the new promo.

Olly Murs, One Direction, Reggie n Bollie and even Bratavio appear.

Plus, there's a return to THAT judges' houses moment with Rylan Clark-Neal.

"It's the one, the only, The X, who's next?" Dermot asks.

So when does The X Factor start on TV?

The new X Factor trailer fails to give away the start date, with Dermot only saying the show will be airing "this autumn".

While the precise X Factor 2017 start date on ITV has not been officially confirmed just yet the show typically launches around the end of August or beginning of September.

Right now the likely launch date for Series 14 appears to be Saturday, September 2.

The confirmed air date will be revealed in the coming weeks so stick with us.

Meanwhile, alongside Dermot's return, Simon Cowell is back alongside Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger as The X Factor 2017 judges. This year is the first time since between 2008 and 2010 that the panel has remained the same between series.

But they'll be joined by guest judge Alesha Dixon at some of the auditions.

The current Britain's Got Talent judge will be stepping in for Nicole Scherzinger at the auditions in Manchester and also replacing Sharon at try-outs in Edinburgh.

However we don't need to wonder who's hosting the Xtra Factor this year because the show is gone.

After more than a decade, the Xtra Factor - last year hosted by Rylan Clark-Neal and Matt Edmondson - won't air on ITV2 this year with a new online format replacing it.
