Big Brother presenter Emma Willis finds out she has a murderous relative on Who Do You Think You Are tonight.
The TV host, who also fronts The Voice UK, is left stunned by the revelation as she uncovers her family history.
Records reveal how five-times-great great grandfather Richard Fowler tried to kill a blacksmith and his son while living in Ireland in the 18th century.
A 1797 newspaper report told how Richard along with two others stabbed and tortured two men for information during religious tensions between Catholics and Protestants in the country.
"They were knocked down and received many desperate stabs: naked, and bleeding as they were, they were then conveyed to the guardhouse of Dunlavan, and, on daring to complain of such treatment, were again knocked down and beaten in a most unmerciful manner," the report read in grim detail.
Amazingly, the two men survived the ordeal after a local heard their screams and chased the attackers away.
Emma reacts to the news: “That’s horrific. How can you defend doing that to somebody? That was exactly what I didn’t want to find out.”
