The first look at The X Factor 2017 judging panel and auditions set has been revealed by special guest Alesha Dixon.

This week it was confirmed that the show's line-up will remain exactly the same this year, with Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh all back as judges.

However, Nicole was absent from the first day of Manchester auditions yesterday, reportedly due to a prior commitment.

So Britain's Got Talent star Alesha was drafted in as a replacement - and she shared some pictures and videos giving us a sneaky peek at the studio.

One shot of her and Simon on her Instagram page is captioned: "Love this man! @simoncowell has had me in stitches all day!"

Another of all four judges with presenter Dermot O'Leary says: "What a day! Thanks for having me @thexfactor"

The former Mis-Teeq singer also uploaded a clip of herself filming a glamour shot in front of a crane camera.

Alesha's posts reveal that there's a brand new desk - while giant, lit-up 'X' logos replace the usual static backdrops.

But the new look set isn't the only change to the room auditions this year.

Viewers have now been invited to go along and witness the action from the holding room, where they'll also be rubbing shoulders with the contestants.

The judges' audition tour will continue in Edinburgh and London over the coming weeks, before the successful acts are whisked off to Boot Camp.

The X Factor is expected to return to ITV at the end of August.
