X Factor's Casey Johnson is reportedly set to sign up to a new MTV dating show.

The former Stereo Kicks and Union J star is apparently in talks to join the upcoming reality show.

It was reported last week that MTV is working on a new dating show that will see celebs date their fans via social media.

"He’s used to having girls fawn after his time on The X Factor and being in a boy band," a source told the Daily Star newspaper.

The news comes after Casey split from his X Factor girl friend Betsy-Blue English, who was a member of Only The Young.

A source told The Sun of the break up: "Casey is keen to pursue more television work while Betsy has been spending a lot of time in the recording studio in LA.

"She’s been getting a lot of attention from American fans but has chosen to stay single in order to focus on her music career."

As for Casey's potential new TV project, it's been claimed that the new reality series will see stars matched with potential partners via social media.

According to The Sun newspaper, other stars who have signed up for the series include Celebrity Big Brother's Farrah Abraham and Geordie Shore's Scotty T, Marnie Simpson and Chloe Ferry.

The celebs will go on a number of dates with their matches before deciding if one is their true love.

Speaking about the new format, which MTV declined to comment on, the insider continued: "They will use their social media accounts as their own dating agent, and offer out dates to their fans.

“Any of their followers, anywhere in the world, will be able to potentially go on a date with them.

“They could end up dating any of their fans- but that means they will have to be single.”
