Nicole Scherzinger could miss the first of The X Factor 2017 auditions.
The Pussycat Doll singer, who is reportedly "days away" from signing a deal to return to the show this year, could be forced to miss out on filming.
The Sun newspaper reports that Nicole is set to spend time in the US next month when auditions begin to care for her poorly aunt.
A source told the newspaper: “She is devastated to see what her auntie is going through. While Nicole wants to make sure she gives X Factor her full attention, of course she has to be with her family.
“She wants to make sure she is there to support her auntie so will be back in the US in upcoming weeks — and it looks likely to clash with the first auditions."
The tabloid reports that Mel B is likely to step in as a guest judge if Nicole can't make it.
And it wouldn't be the first time: Mel also appeared on the show last year to stand in for Nicole when she missed auditions in London.
That said, as yet no judges have been officially confirmed for The X Factor 2017.
However it's looking likely that Nicole will join Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh back on the panel just like last year.
If that happens, it'll be the first time since 2010 with Simon, Louis, Cheryl and Dannii Minogue that The X Factor judges remain unchanged.
A spokesperson for The X Factor commented: "No formal decision has yet been made regarding the full judging panel for The X Factor 2017."
The X Factor 2017 will air later this year on ITV with Dermot O'Leary hosting.
