Former Bake Off hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins are being tipped to front a revived series of The Generation Game.

The hit BBC One series was originally presented by Sir Bruce Forsyth and was last shown on TV in 2002 with Jim Davidson as host.

It's been rumoured that the BBC is working on a revival for a good few months now, with Miranda Hart previously attached.

However she's understood to have declined the chance to film a full new series.

And so, if The Sun is to be believed, Mel & Sue are next in line.

The newspaper reports that the duo, who recently fronted Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief, are set to take charge of the revamped series.

A source the tabloid: “Mel and Sue are seen as exactly what this classic show needs. They were seen as a perfect replacement.”

However a spokesperson for the BBC played down the reports and said: “This is speculation and we have nothing further to add.”
