Fern Britton is back with ITV’s new high-drama daytime cookery show Culinary Genius today.
And for the fourth week, she's joined by latest celebrity chef Jean-Christophe Novelli.
Airing each week day at 3PM, Culinary Genius will see nine amateur cooks head into a wrestling ring-style studio to do culinary battle.
A different professional chef will preside over the kitchen each week, demonstrating two of the tasks for the competitors as well as the audience watching at home.
Culinary legend Gordon Ramsay was first in charge, week two saw Rosemary Shrager bring her own unique style to the high-intensity kitchen while Phil Vickery was host last week.
Judge this week is French celebrity chef and head of his own Academy, Jean-Christophe Novelli.
As always, nine home cooks are whittled down in three increasingly intense culinary battles until one rises to glory to claim the one thousand pound cash prize and win today’s coveted title of Culinary Genius.
Battle One will see the contestants face a five-minute knife skills test. Set by tough taskmaster, Phil, and designed to test the contestants' knife skills and sift out the disastrous from those with speed and skill.
The three weakest contestants will then be immediately eliminated.
The remaining six face Battle Two which focuses on precision and skill. This ten-minute test is all about preparation as a carefully chosen ingredient is revealed to the remaining six competitors and they race to prepare it perfectly. Today’s ingredient for the chop, contestants lift and discover a set of ripe tomatoes.
Three more hopefuls will then be sent home, leaving the remaining trio to face an exciting and thrilling cook-off in Battle Three where they need to create a stunning dish in less than half an hour.
Culinary Genius airs Monday to Friday (weekdays) at 3pm on ITV
