The fourth and final episode in the last series was up 300,000 viewers on last Tuesday's number, with all episodes from the new series having been available to watch online since last month.
Our Friend Victoria followed the final episode of Car Share with 3.6 million viewers, matching last week's number.
Earlier on BBC One, Holby City was up 100,000 viewers on last week to 4.5 million while EastEnders continued with 5.5 million, down 400,000 on last Tuesday night.
Over on ITV, Emmerdale dropped to 5.3 million viewers - own over 700,000 on last week - while new panel show Don't Ask Me, Ask Britain continued to struggle with just 1.5 million viewers, its lowest rating yet.
In the 9PM hour, the second part of Paul O'Grady: For the Love of Animals - India had 2.3 million viewers, 200,000 below last week's first half.
Earlier, Rylan's new game show Babushka dropped slightly on Monday's opener from 2 million to 1.8 million viewers with Pointless scoring 3 million against it on BBC One.
Elsewhere, over on Channel 4, First Dates continued with over 1.1 million viewers but was eclipsed by One Born Every Minute which had 1.2 million an hour earlier.
Channel 5's most watched programme of the night was The Yorkshire Vet with 2 million viewers.
Finally, on BBC Two, Bake Off: Creme de la Creme was steady with 2.1 million viewers tuning in.
