Fleur East has revealed what we can expect from her a second album at the end of the year.

And it sounds as though it could be very different to her first, which included hit single Sax.

"I think the last album was a lot more throwback, and now I’ve naturally moved into a more modern sound," Fleur teased.

The X Factor 2014 runner up told the HuffPost UK: "But I’m experimenting with a lot of different sounds, sounds from back home where my mum’s from in Ghana, but it’s going to be high-energy, keeping the energy up.

“I was in the studio with Nana Rogues last week actually, who’s produced a lot of stuff on Drake’s album, which is amazing. He’s also from Ghana, where my mum’s from.

"And I had a little writing camp, and worked with a lot of exciting people, so yeah, there’s a lot in the pipeline."

Meanwhile, talking to the Daily Star, Fleur shared plans for a more "instrumental focused" record.

“One of my New Year’s resolutions was to learn to play the piano so I’m working on that now because I love to write but usually I’m sitting in with musicians," Fleur told the newspaper.

She added: “I wanted this record to be more instrumental focused, and incorporate some instruments I wouldn’t have before.”

Although slated for release this year, it's not entirely clear exactly when we can expect Fleur's follow up record.

After being signed by Simon Cowell's Syco record label following her series, Fleur released hit single Sax in 2015 which peaked at Number 3 while album Love, Sax and Flashbacks reached Number 14.
