X Factor's Matt Terry has been accused of turning up to the show's live tour late and hungover.

Last year's winner has also apologised after a 'drunken rant' saw him anger parents by swearing in front of young fans.

A source told The Sun newspaper today: "The Matt the public saw on TV is not the Matt everyone is seeing backstage on tour."

They alleged of one incident: "After one practice he got drunk at a bar in Wakefield and started swearing his mouth off in front of children, shouting the word c***. The parents who heard him were furious."

The source also claimed that Matt has had to mime through songs during the show's live tour rehearsals after arriving apparently hungover.

"He has turned up late for call times and appeared hungover at rehearsals," the source suggested, "At some he has had to mime through tunes while wearing shades to hide his eyes.”

A pal close to Matt told the tabloid that he regretted his drunken outburst but insisted that the reigning champ was just enjoying the time on tour.

"Matt’s 23 and just having a good time on tour. He regrets getting drunk and swearing in a family environment, but he’s 100 per cent dedicated in his performances," they said in his defence.

Taking to Twitter tonight while The X Factor's live tour is currently in Cardiff, Matt told his followers: "You have one shot at life. Take it. Enjoy it. Live it the way you please. Cannot wait to take the stage tonight. I love my life."

The X Factor live tour concludes next week in Brighton, after which Matt will hit the studio to work on his winner's album.
