X Factor's Jake Quickenden has revealed how he ended his 'feud' with show boss Simon Cowell.

Former finalist Jake clashed with Simon about his decision to enter the I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here jungle following his stint on The X Factor.

Simon had complained about contestants who used The X Factor just to become famous and sniped: "What we want on this show are people who want to be recording artists in the real world."

Jake retaliated at the time and insisted he IS a serious musician and was not just after a quick route to fame.

"It's not about being famous for me, it's about doing something I love," he said. "I love music, but when I'm A Celeb came up, I didn't once think, 'Oh, that could make me more famous'.

"It was a great opportunity. I'd have been an idiot to turn it down."

Speaking to Closer magazine, Jake said that he and Simon had since made up.

Jake explained: "I think people say things sometimes and don't really mean them. Simon understands I've got to embrace every opportunity with both hands, if it's going to help me with my career, whether in music or presenting.

"It's all about taking the opportunities I've been given."

The hunky singer told the publication how he and Simon had previously met up and cleared the air.

"[Simon] gave me a hug and said 'good on you, you've done well'," Jake told the magazine.

The X Factor will return to ITV later this year.
