The Nightly Show's ratings climbed last night on ITV to 2 million viewers.
A strong average audience of 2.9 million had previously tuned in for the first opening half-hour on Monday night, however numbers dropped from 3.8 million down to 2.2 million by the end.
Tuesday's show evening saw the drop continue, falling to an average audience of 1.3 million for the second episode.
But Numbers were back up yesterday with 2 million watching Wednesday's show
The new series is set to air every week night at 10PM on ITV for eight weeks, with a different host each week. David Walliams started the show last night and will be back this evening and for the rest of this week's episodes.
Earlier on ITV, new kids TV talent show Little Big Shots hosted by Dawn French enjoyed a healthy launch audience of 4.1 million while comedy drama Benidorm returned with 4.7 million.
Coronation Street was the most watched soap of the night with 6.9 million viewers to Emmerdale's 6.1 million, while the football match on BBC One had 3.5 million.
Elsewhere, BBC Two's top show was an Antiques Road Trip repeat with 1.6 million viewers while Channel 4's night was topped by The Royal House of Windsor with 1.7 million viewers. Channel 5 had 1.5 million viewers for GPs: Behind Closed Doors.
