X Factor finalist Samantha Lavery has revealed she's working on her own original music.
The talented teen is currently on the road for The X Factor live tour but has teased plans to release her own music soon.
Sam said: "I've watched The X Factor all my life and always looked up to the artists that have come from the show and made successful careers for themselves. I've always wanted to enter the show and as soon as I turned 16, I applied.
"The whole experience was amazing and taught me so much about myself, whilst helping to learn about the artist I wanted to be. It has given me so much confidence. I feel so lucky to get where I did in the competition and it has given me an amazing platform for me to grow and work hard on my music career."
Speaking about her future plans, Samantha added: "I'm so excited to be writing my own original music and I can't wait for everyone to hear it, I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone who is supporting me on my journey. It has been and still is incredible. "
It was reported earlier this year that Sam could be set to sign a record deal with Simon Cowell.
So far a total of four of last year's acts have penned various contracts with music makers.
"Simon signed Ella Henderson when she left the show at the same point Sam did so it isn't a stretch of the imagination," a source told the Daily Star newspaper previously. "Sam was always the hardest worker on the show and got along with everyone – Simon even predicted she would win the series."
The insider explained: "Syco bosses have three months after the X Factor final to pick up anyone who made the live shows and those in the inner circle know Simon is still considering his options."
Sam is joined on the X Factor live tour by Matt Terry, Saara Aalto, 5 After Midnight, Emily Middlemas, Honey G, Ryan Lawrie and Four Of Diamonds.
The X Factor will be back on ITV later this year.
