X Factor winner Matt Terry has admitted he's not spoken to Simon Cowell at all since the final.

The latest champ has revealed he's not been in contact with the show boss since last winning the 2016 series last December.

"We haven't spoken at all," Matt confessed. "He always said if I ever needed him, I could speak to him. Hes a lovely guy. He gave me this amazing opportunity so I'll always be grateful to him."

It's quite a different story when it comes to Matt's mentor Nicole Scherzinger.

"We catch up every week," Matt tells this week's Reveal magazine. "We're going to go and grab some food as soon as she's back."

And Matt even has a present for Nicole after helping him on The X Factor.

"I've got something that, as soon as she's back in the UK, I'm going to give to her. But I'm not going to tell you what it is, I don't want to ruin the surprise. It's something memorable."

Meanwhile, reflecting on the past month since winning the series, Matt said: "It's been amazing, I've been so busy, I've barely seen my friends and family. I'm writing my album now, which is exciting."

Matt will head out to headline The X Factor live tour this month alongside Saara Aalto, 5 After Midnight, Emily Middlemas, Honey G, Ryan Lawrie, Samantha Lavery and Four Of Diamonds.

The X Factor will return to ITV later this year.
