BBC One's hit satirical news quiz Have I Got News For You is to have its first co-hosts in the shape of Masterchef's John Torode and Gregg Wallace next month, it has been revealed. The cooking duo will front the show hot off the back from the MasterChef final which airs on April 27.
The duo will record their show on Thursday 12 May for transmission on Friday 13 May, 9PM.
Food writer Gregg Wallace said: "It's brilliant being on Have I Got News For You. I've watched it for years and never dreamed I'd ever be on it. Mum's going to be so proud!"
Meanwhile John Torode added: "Have I Got News For You is a fantastic show and I'm really excited to be asked to be part of the first-ever double act to host it. Quizzes don't get tougher than this!"
Richard Wilson, executive producer for Hat Trick Productions - the makers of the show - joked: "Have we booked two of them? There must be some mistake."
Other hosts confirmed for the current series include Alexander Armstrong, who will be joined by Ross Noble; Sharon Horgan; and Jo Brand.
The show returned to BBC One at 9PM two weeks ago which close to 5 million viewers. Have I Got News For You continues tomorrow night at 9PM, hosted by Rhod Gilbert, who will be joined by Marcus Brigstocke and Louise Bagshawe.
