ITV have announced The Nightly Show, a brand new weeknight entertainment series for 2017.
The 30-minute daily entertainment show going out in the 10pm slot is being produced for ITV by Second Act Productions and will see the series stripped over five nights a week for an eight week run, featuring a different big name host each week.
David Walliams will be in the hot seat for the launch week with the show described as a mash up of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway and America's The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Britain's Got Talent judge David, who recently fronted a revived Blankety Blank for ITV at Christmas, said: "I am thrilled to be the first host for this brand new show for ITV."
The famous faces hosting the show during the eight week run will oversee a high tempo mixture of topical monologue, studio games, celebrity guests, experts and VT’s.
More guest hosts for the run so far include Gordon Ramsay, John Bishop and Bradley Walsh.
The Nightly Show will be recorded ‘as live’ each day at 6pm in a converted studio at a central London location.
Peter Davey, ITV’s Head Of Comedy Entertainment said: “We're really excited about launching this bold new show, and delighted that David will kick off what will be an eight week entertainment treat for viewers.”
Second Act Productions said: “We’re thrilled that David had agreed to kick off the series by hosting week one of The Nightly Show. He’s a major talent and will set the tone of what we hope will be a very exciting series.”
The Nightly Show with David Walliams will begin on Monday, February 27 on ITV at 10PM.
