Sing If You Can

Telly host Vernon Kay reportedly pulled out of new ITV1 reality game show Sing If You Can because he found the format too daft! The programme, which TellyMix revealed ITV had picked up in January of this year, sees celebs such as Jedward try to sing whilst faced with distractions like having knives thrown at them or their chests being waxed.

We reported yesterday how Vernon had been replaced by Leigh Francis's alter ego Keith Lemon in the host, despite having already recorded two episodes. Keith will join co-host Stacey Solomon on Friday to continue to record the show in London.

Vernon said last night: "Following the pilot the producers and I talked about the tone of the show.

"And we all agreed that because of the mix of comedy and slapstick challenges it would benefit from having a comedian to host it."

Meanwhile a source told The Sun this morning: "Vern would never describe himself as a serious sort of bloke but this show was a bit crazy even for him.

"It was chaos on set and he just didn't know what to do with himself half the time."
