Rylan's chat show 'Up Late With Rylan' start date confirmed for May 9

Up Late With Rylan

Rylan Clark-Neal's Channel 5 chat show Up Late With Rylan has a confirmed start date.

It's been announced that Rylan's show will start on Monday, May 9 at 11PM on Channel 5 for its first episode.

Rylan said: "It is late, but it's not as late as The Late Late Show airs in America. It's late-ish. It is a bit naughty."

Up Late With Rylan will then air FOUR nights a week throughout May, ahead of the return of Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother in the summer.

Each episode will be filmed with a live audience just before transmission to make it as up to date as possible.

Channel 5 have described the new chat show as "an inclusive, hilarious and mischievous nightly treat", teasing: "There will be engaging items around each well-known guest star and Rylan will be joined by a variety of music acts during the series."

Rylan, who also fronts Big Brother's Bit On The Side, said: “I’m delighted to be hosting my very own show.

"I can’t wait to get started and show you how much fun we’re all going to have together. I can promise you it will be lively but light hearted, energetic and always entertaining – welcome to my world!”

In a first advert for the series that aired last week, Rylan was seen talking about his dreams of perfect hair, perfect teeth and his own chat show.

"Nailed it," the X Factor singer turned telly presenter quips to himself before organsing his first guests for the new series.
