Comedian Russell Howard has been crowned the nation's top 'Weird Crush' of 2013 by readers of Heat magazine!
The 32-year-old presenter of BBC Three's Russell Howard's Good News - who has finished third in two previous polls - snatched the title after over 3,000 people cast their votes.
He beat fellow funnyman and 8 Out Of 10 Cats panellist Jon Richardson, a new entry in second, while previous champion and Pointless co-host Richard Osman settles for third place.
Speaking about his victory, Russell said: "Thanks – I think – to the people who voted for me. Finally, I am king of the mingers! It’s nice to know I’d be many people’s sympathy shag."
A gracious Richard added: "I’ve had the most wonderful year as heat’s Weird Crush, travelling the world and working tirelessly for charity. I am so happy to hand over the crown to Russell Howard, a younger and handsomer man."
Heat editor Lucie Cave commented: "heat's Weird Crush was hotly contested this year – even Harry Styles said it was his dream to win (which is weird in itself). The new entry from Jon Richardson at number two shows girls do really like a man who claims he has no life or friends.
"But there can only be one winner and although Russell Howard has been hanging around in the Weird crush chart for several years – this year his fans decided it was his turn for the top-spot. Proof that, on Valentine’s Day, there's love out there for everyone."
The Weird Crush 2013 top ten are as follows:
- Russell Howard (Up 2)
- Jon Richardson (New Entry)
- Richard Osman (Down 2)
- Benedict Cumberbatch (Non-mover)
- Matt Smith (Up 1)
- Francis Boulle (Up 5)
- Adam Richman (New Entry)
- Alexander Armstrong
- Alan Rickman (Down 7)
- Ed Sheeran (New Entry)
