BBC’s gripping true-crime drama The Gold is back on Sunday 8 June, and the story just got deeper.
All six new episodes will land on BBC iPlayer from 6am, with the first airing on BBC One at 9PM.
Based on the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery, where £26 million in gold bullion was stolen, the new series picks up the trail of the missing half – the part that was never found.
Series two dives into international money laundering and organised crime, as the police continue their high-stakes investigation.
The Brink’s-Mat Task Force faces a long, costly hunt – the most expensive case in Met Police history.
The trailer, released today, shows the global scale of the probe and the mounting pressure on everyone involved.
Jack Lowden returns as Kenneth Noye from episode three, alongside returning stars Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, Tom Cullen and more.
New cast members include Tom Hughes, Stephen Campbell Moore and Rochelle Neil, adding fresh tension to the already high-stakes drama.
Written by Neil Forsyth (Guilt, Eric, Ernie & Me), and produced by Tannadice Pictures, The Gold continues to explore what really happened after one of Britain’s biggest heists.
