Strictly Come Dancing’s launch show will clash with The X Factor, with the start date and time now confirmed.

Strictly will begin tonight, Saturday, September 9 at 7PM on BBC One, running to 8:40PM.

In the pre-recorded launch show, hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman will present an exclusive premiere and star-studded red carpet launch for the 15th series of Strictly Come Dancing and welcome 15 brand new celebrity contestants to the dancefloor.

Celebs on this year’s Striclty are The Saturdays’ Mollie King, EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami, Host of ITV’s This Morning and regular Loose Women panellist Ruth Langsford, Reverend Richard Coles, and soap actress Gemma Atkinson.

Also on the official line up right now are TV chef and presenter Simon Rimmer, Holby City actor Joe McFadden, BBC Radio 4 comic Susan Calman, JLS singer Aston Merrygold and comic Brian Conley.

They’re joined by Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins and Holby City actress Chizzy Akudolu.

Rounding off the line up are X Factor winner turned West End star Alexandra Burke, Paralympian Jonnie Peacock, and Debbie McGee, TV personality, presenter and the widow of magician Paul Daniels.

This is where the journey will begin for the class of 2017 where they’ll discover which professional dancer they are to be paired up with for the competition.

They’ll then hit the dancefloor for their very first performance as a group.

Plus, there will be a special tribute to the late Sir Bruce Forsyth.

The live shows will then begin later, launching on Saturday, September 23.

Meanwhile, The X Factor got a head start on Strictly after launching last Saturday and Sunday on ITV at 8PM.

Hopefully when both go live they can avoid each other…
